Eye Stye Cause

An eye stye is caused by by bacterial infection of a blocked eyelash oil gland.

Eye Stye Symptoms

• Sore soft red lump on the eyelid.
• Blurred vision
• Watering eye
• Foreign body sensation

Eye Stye Treatment

• Warm compresses for 10-15 min three times a day helps an eye stye to discharge - think of it like warming a candle so it can flow.
• Antibiotic eye drops, or tablets in severe cases.
• Avoid contact lenses and mascara until the infection has passed.
