  • If normal light hurts your eyes

Here's what you can also try to Treat a Black Eye:

  • Don't take any aspirin based pain-killers as they thin your blood taking the black eye longer to heal. Try Acetaminophenproducts like Tylenol instead.
  • Eat pineapple and papaya (three times a day). Enzymes in the fruit can soften your bruise and make it easier heal.
  • Use an ice pack around the eye until it feels numb, then give it a 30 minute break. This helps to reduce swelling.

If all else fails and you're dying of embarrassment, try using makeup to hide the black eye until it's gone. Dermablend is one such product sold over the counter that's quite effective.

Remember that it's always best to let your doctor take a peek at your black eye initially champ.
