Biotin deficiency is very rare as it is found in nearly all foods. However, eating lots of egg whites (binds to biotin - the yolk is loaded with Biotin however), or long term anticonvulsant (stop Biotin gut absorption) and antibiotic use (kill Biotin producing intestinal bacteria) can lead to Biotin deficiency.
